Individual Spanish Therapy (EMDR Therapy in Spanish in Denver, CO)
Simply put, adult life can be difficult. You’re probably trying to be there for your loved ones, working hard at your job, getting on with tasks, and so on. To top it off, you can also be an immigrant or a child of immigrants, faced with added pressure to adjust to American culture and work across cultural barriers.
Because you have so much at stake in your life, you may find it difficult, or even impossible, to take time for yourself. You may not be able to easily fall asleep at night or get out of bed in the morning. You may not be able to find another way to relieve it, so you are helping yourself with alcohol or other substances.
But, as the cycle of worry and sadness continues, you may want to form healthier relationships with loved ones and manage life responsibilities and stressors productively. Above all, you may long for a better relationship with yourself.
We all face losses, problems, and difficult transitions at some point in our lives. We all need support and guidance sometimes. During these challenging times, or really, at any time, it’s okay to seek help. Reaching it does not make you “crazy”, it makes you responsible; individual therapy is for all who long for a happier and lighter life.
Talking about difficult feelings can be difficult, especially if your family never talked about your emotions when you were little. For example, men are often encouraged to bury their emotions and put up a tough face, especially Latino men.
I understand how awkward opening can be. But, regardless of its origin, I am here to listen to you. I won’t push you into topics you don’t want to talk about, and I won’t rush you. My responsibility is to make you feel safe and facilitate your healing. And, with EMDR, you can look carefully at old wounds, not reopen them, but ultimately find relief.
You may already feel overwhelmed and out of time for yourself in your life. In my experience, mothers especially have a hard time making themselves a priority. As a mother, I understand.
I also know that investing in therapy and taking care of yourself can help you be more present with your children. You become a healthy role model for your children. In fact, learning how to regulate worries and combat self-doubt can help you become more deeply involved in every aspect of your life.
By addressing issues now, you can discover the resources within you to care for yourself and your loved ones throughout your future.
