Child Therapy
Play Therapy is a model of therapy used specifically with children to help them express themselves and release th emotions associated with the traumatic events in his/her life. I've received continuing education in this method and utilize it with many of my young clients, especially those who have been traumatized, victimized, or undergone stressful situations. As I develop a trusting relationship with a child, I'm able to understand their play and respond in a manner which will help them work through disruptive life events and heal.
Adoptive/Challenging Parenting
Let's face it, parenting isn't an easy task for anyone. The challenges are only magnified in foster and adoption situations where both you and the child are adjusting to new situations. I believe there is no greater gift you can give a child than a loving home, but trying to build a family, earn trust and make an adopted or foster child feel loved can often be a burdensome task for many parents.
When parenting becomes tough, it can often help both parents and children to get an outside perspective and learn some tools to help them relate in a healthy way and adjust to their new family. I will help you and your children uncover the issues that cause the most strife in your relationship and help you find tools that work for you and your children. Adoption Therapy in Denver.
